Quick update ..

Hey folks, 

Well i'm off on a long weekend (May Day bank holiday-so i'm only off on Monday, basically i have a extra day off from work)

Anyway, if you follow me on my personal Twitter account; you'll know this story, if not-here goes:

On my way home from work on Thursday, i got off the bus and walked my way down to the station...until i was chatted up (what i can only describe) as the ugliest black man ever: now i never judge people by their looks-but sweet mother of mercy; he looked like a rejected guest from the Jeremy Kyle show.

He told me his name and that he was 48 years old (seriously, my folks are in their 60s; if you ever saw a picture of them you wouldn't believe it, this guy however-no way, he looked older than he said...and he looked as though he's probably got a few kids from other girls) and from how he was staring at me, he was only interested in my boobs and my ass, he wasn't really looking at my face.

What he said next made this image pop up 
      

He said that he *ahem* wanted to show me to his family!

At that moment, my mind was going  at 60 thoughts per second 

I told him that i was single-ish (meaning that I've been talking to someone-you know who he is   for awhile) ...i told him this twice.
He still asked for my number, which i gave....however....

I changed a few of the digits in my number,i know its not a nice thing to do, but when you got some creepy dude who won't take no for an answer despite the number of times you told them no-sometimes you gotta throw them off the trail. 


I do apologise that i did this, but seriously, this guy looked as though he's got kids from other past gfs....that's not going to be me; last thing i want to happen is to end up on the Jeremy Kyle show getting this ugly creepy guy's ass on the show to get my child's maintenance, told my sisters and my mum this, and they basically laughed.

Okay, next up...

I'm working on my commissions listing with some new items and such: but i wont go into too much details about this story as its still ongoing.

But in February- person A* had commissioned me to design a logo for them (won't give details about it) now after i'd designed the logo and everything- i discuss my prices with them (they probably thought it'd be a block price, i work by the hour)

When i told person A* about this, the last thing she said to me was "i'll crunch some numbers with my advisers and i'll get back to you"

Its now May and i'll not received my money from that person; they owe me at least £80-90 which was going to be used to help me with my saving of my graphic tablet funds (i currently have £152 out of £442 saved)- i plan on getting the Huion GT-220 V2 Silver Graphic Drawing Tablet monitor (my Wacom tablet I've had since 2011

Not only am i upset that person A* hasn't even bothered to contact me to say something like "i'm so sorry for not getting back to you soon, I've got the money in hand and i'll give you the money when i see you next" at least that would have been more plausible, but the fact that i've known this person since i was a baby.

My normal route for doing commissions is to take a deposit, then get the rest of the money afterwards, but as well as work taking over most of my time, but I've been reworking my commission prices and TOS, hopefully i'll get my dad to talk to this person to pay me (what that doesn't realise is that within the drawing I've hidden my watermark and i'll only remove it once I've been paid)


So now i'm opening up commissions to get the £80-90 i was rightfully owed. (and said person is permanently blacklisted for life)

So for folks who are either starting to open up commissions and/or who have taken commissions in the past:

-ALWAYS take a down payment first and foremost (this means that you're covered and so is your customer)-this is what i do, and have always done this (until that moment with person A*)

-SAVE everything! This means save your conversation between yourself and your customer(s) and write it down in a book you know you'll keep at your side.


This has made me pretty mad..but also upset.
